Reflection:

In this semester, I found this course to be extremely interesting. From designing game characters to creating music album covers and finally designing anime, the assignments were highly relevant to the fields we may work in the future. The requirement to use Illustrator for all our tasks added a layer of challenge. Each assignment came with its own set of constraints, which pushed us to think creatively, utilize our imagination, and improve our execution skills. Given the heavy workload and limited time, the semester was intense, leaving no room for complacency.

Throughout these assignments, I gained various professional skills. Designing game characters taught me the importance of detail and consistency in character design, ensuring that each character is unique yet coherent with the overall game theme. Creating music album covers allowed me to explore visual storytelling, where the artwork needs to convey the essence of the music and the artist’s brand. Finally, designing anime honed my skills in creating dynamic scenes and expressive characters, emphasizing movement and emotion.

These projects also enhanced my technical proficiency with Illustrator, as I had to use various tools and techniques to bring my ideas to life. From mastering the pen tool for precise paths to understanding color theory and gradients for vibrant designs, each task was a step towards becoming more adept at digital illustration. The feedback from Mr. Hafiz was invaluable, offering constructive insights that helped refine my work and broaden my perspective on design.
